Oracle Application Frame-work (OAF)

provides extension of existing e-Business suite forms/screens and facilitates a whole new custom application build on the top of e-Business Suite tier. The OAF can brought any change in the e-Business suite screens which is not seeded. Most of the clients take advantage of this tool when they find e-Business suite not supported for certain functionality and thus require to extend or build it from scratch. OAF can bring can bring a change in browser look and feel (BLAF) which can not be accomplished by personalization. As such, they are often expected to require no support or training for users, are more user friendly, and result in better performance over the internet and a faster transaction rate. The OA Framework helps in building the presentation layer, adding the business logic and controlling the flow of the application.


Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF)

is another development platform that make agile development possible to expose “data as service” by interfacing Services with built-in Business Services via Meta-data. Use of this metadata-driven architecture enables application developers to focus on the business logic anduser experience, rather than the details of how services are accessed. Beyond rich web application development ADF offers an architecture to accommodate Service Oriented Architecture – SOA and Business Process Management – BPM component and features as well. Fusion applications do not support OAF and hence introduces ADF as a native tool. ADF leverages the power and ability of customizing not only Fusion applications but e-Business Suite as well. It is one of the hot “customer’s choice” specially for them who are planning to move on Fusion in near future or extending e-Business suite applications forms with a SOA or BPM perspective in mind.
